Amanda House, LMSW, IMH-E, brings more than 25 years of experience working with children, families, and adults to Lapeer Christian Counseling. Amanda has built her career on helping others navigate trauma, anxiety, depression, parenting challenges, and life transitions. She has a particular passion for strengthening parent-child relationships, supporting foster families, and giving young children a voice during difficult times.

My goal is to support and guide you through the challenges life brings your way. Throughout my career I have worked with children and families with complex trauma. I have sought to give children, especially young children, a voice when they are in difficult situations such as foster care, family challenges, or medically fragile situations. My desire is to give children and adults a better understanding of themselves and provide them with the skills and tools to grow. By offering hope and guidance, my clients can learn to use their strengths and gifts to move to a healthier existence.  Through a faith-based approach, I have also been able to support them in understanding how their life experiences affect their relationships.

I am here to support your own journey in understanding yourself better . . . through the lens of your personal faith and resilience.

On a Personal Note

Outside of my clinical work, I find joy in spending time with my family and expressing myself through music and the arts. I serve as a music pastor at my church where I sing and play the guitar and djembe. I also enjoy reading the bible, photography, writing, and dancing. Maintaining balance and rest is at the core of everything I do, and my greatest gift is my family.
